Trading Tournament Formats: Hourly to World Championship
Every PnL World trading tournament format explained — Hourly, 4-Hour, Daily, Weekly, PnL Monthly, PnL Quarterly, World Championship — and how to choose.
PnL World runs tournaments in seven formats, from one hour to one year, plus an always-on practice table. They share one set of rules; what changes is the length, the leverage cap and the weight of the result in the PnL World Rating (PWR).
All formats at a glance
| Format | Length | Max leverage | Points to the winner | Schedule |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hourly | 1 hour | 20× | 25 | every hour |
| 4-Hour | 4 hours | 20× | 40 | every 4 hours |
| Daily | 1 day | 20× | 75 | every day |
| Weekly | 7 days | 20× | 250 | every week |
| PnL Monthly | 1 month | 10× | 1,000 | every month |
| PnL Quarterly | 3 months | 10× | 3,000 | every quarter |
| PnL World Championship | 1 year | 10× | 10,000 | yearly |
All formats trade the crypto basket — BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP and BNB — on live Binance data, from the same virtual bankroll for every trader at the table. Entry stays open while a tournament is running.
Short formats: Hourly, 4-Hour, Daily
Fast, frequent and the best way to learn. An hour rewards quick reads and tight risk control; a day rewards patience through the session. They carry the least rating weight, so they build form and experience more than rank.
Good for: your first tournaments, testing an idea, trading around a busy schedule.
Weekly
Seven days of continuous trading. Long enough that one lucky trade rarely decides it, short enough to stay focused. A Weekly win is worth ten Hourly wins.
Good for: swing traders and anyone building consistency.
The flagships: PnL Monthly, PnL Quarterly, PnL World Championship
The long championships decide the top of the rankings. They run on a lower leverage cap (10×), they are worth the most points, and their fields are the deepest.
- PnL Monthly — a month-long championship; one win equals forty Hourly wins.
- PnL Quarterly — three months; three times a PnL Monthly.
- PnL World Championship — the whole year; the 2027 edition runs from 1 January to 31 December 2027.
Good for: position traders and anyone aiming for the top divisions.
Free Arena
An always-on practice table with a virtual bankroll, no clock and no rating. Start over at any time. It is the place to learn the terminal before your first rated tournament.
Special events
From time to time PnL World runs special tournaments outside the regular schedule — for example the free PnL Community Cup. They follow the same rules and are rated with the weight of their length.

FAQ
Why is leverage lower in the long formats? Over a month or more, high leverage turns ordinary moves into liquidations. The 10× cap keeps the long championships about decisions, not survival.
Which format gives the most rating points? The World Championship (10,000 to the winner), then PnL Quarterly (3,000) and PnL Monthly (1,000) — always multiplied by field strength.
Can I join a long tournament late? Yes. See joining a tournament late.
PnL World tournaments are simulated: trades are executed against live market data, but no real-money positions are opened on any exchange. Nothing here is financial advice.
