World No. 1 Trader: What the Title Means on PnL World
What it takes to be World No. 1 in the PnL World Rating (PWR): how the top spot is decided, why it is earned over many tournaments, and how to challenge.
In tennis, golf and chess, World No. 1 is the most respected title in the sport — more than any single win, because it is earned over many events against the best opposition. PnL World brings the same title to trading: World No. 1 is the verified trader with the highest PnL World Rating (PWR).
How World No. 1 is decided
- The PnL World Rankings order verified traders by their PWR — the career total of rating points from rated tournaments.
- PWR points = format weight × place share × field strength. The bigger the event, the higher the place and the stronger the field, the more points.
- Points never expire. A trader with no rated finish for 180 days is marked Inactive until the next one.
- Only verified traders appear in the rankings — one verified account per person.
There is no committee and no vote. The formula is public, and so is every result behind it.
Why it has to be earned over time
One tournament can be luck. A World No. 1 ranking cannot. Look at the weights:
| Event | PWR for the winner |
|---|---|
| Hourly | 25 |
| Daily | 75 |
| Weekly | 250 |
| PnL Monthly | 1,000 |
| PnL Quarterly | 3,000 |
| PnL World Championship | 10,000 |
To lead the world, a trader needs strong finishes in the flagship events — PnL Monthly, PnL Quarterly and the PnL World Championship — against large, verified fields, again and again.
World No. 1 vs World Champion
| World No. 1 | PnL World Champion | |
|---|---|---|
| How | Highest PWR across all rated tournaments | Winner of the yearly PnL World Championship |
| Measures | Consistency over a career | The best single year |
| Changes | Whenever someone overtakes on PWR | Once a year |
The two titles can belong to different traders — just as in tennis the year-end No. 1 is not always the Wimbledon champion. Holding both is the peak of competitive trading.
Why it means something
- Everyone starts equal: 100,000 Credits, the same live markets, the same costs.
- One scoring rule: place = final result after fees and funding; open positions count.
- Real opposition: field strength rewards beating strong, verified traders.
- Permanent record: results are public and never deleted.

How to challenge for it
- Finish rated tournaments — every place earns points.
- Prioritise the flagship events.
- Never get liquidated — it ranks you last.
- Verify your phone to appear in the rankings.
- Stay active and keep climbing the divisions toward World Class.
