Is PnL World Legit? How the Platform Works, Plainly
Is PnL World legit? A plain answer: what PnL World is and is not, how results are verified, how entry fees and prizes work, and where the rules are.
Before you join any trading platform, you should know exactly what it is. Here is a plain answer about PnL World — what it does, what it does not do, and how you can check everything yourself.
What PnL World is
PnL World runs trading tournaments on live market data and keeps a public world rating of traders, the PnL World Rating (PWR). Every trader in a tournament starts with the same bankroll of 100,000 Credits, trades the same markets under the same rules, and is ranked by return. See what is PnL World.
What PnL World is not
- Not a broker or an exchange. No orders are sent to any exchange; execution is simulated against live market data.
- Not an investment product. Nobody manages money for you, and your tournament bankroll is not invested anywhere.
- Not a prop firm. There is no funded account and no evaluation fee.
- Not a signal service. Results are competition results, not trading advice.
Entry fees and prizes
- Some tournaments are free, such as the PnL Community Cup; their top 3 win entry tickets to paid tournaments (details).
- Other tournaments have an entry fee. The fee, the prize pool and the prize places are shown on the tournament page before you join.
- Rules change only with notice — any change is announced with a date before it applies.
How results are verified
- One public rule decides every place: return after fees and funding, with open positions counted as if closed at the mark price, including the exit fee. Ties go to the smaller max drawdown. (How results are scored)
- Execution like an exchange: market orders fill against the live order book; fees, funding and liquidation follow exchange rules.
- Results are public and permanent — finished standings are not edited or removed.
- One verified account per person in the World Rankings (phone verification).

Honest limits
- Tournaments are simulated: a great result shows trading skill under competition rules, not real-money performance.
- Small fields produce less meaningful results — that is why PWR scales points by field strength.
- The rating needs many results to be meaningful; one tournament proves little.
FAQ
Can I lose more than the entry fee? No. Positions are simulated and nothing is opened on an exchange. Free tournaments have no entry fee.
Do I need to pay to join? Not for free tournaments. Tournaments with an entry fee show it before you join.
Who can see my results? Tournament standings and rating are public. Other traders' open positions are hidden during a tournament.
How do I contact the team? Through the contact page.
PnL World tournaments are simulated: trades are executed against live market data, but no real-money positions are opened on any exchange. Nothing here is financial advice.
